Our laboratory utilizes the FDA cleared BioFire® FilmArray® Torch System with the PN Panel to detect over 30 clinically relevant respiratory pathogens from sputum, endotracheal aspirates, and bronchoalveolar lavage (BAL) specimens. The panels provide semi-quantitative results for 15 bacterial species, supporting clinical decisions by helping distinguish colonization from true infection. Results are generated through a fully automated process, from nucleic acid extraction to analysis, ensuring rapid and reliable reporting.
